Halal — What Does It Mean
Halal (حلال) — «permitted» in Islam. In the context of food — a system of rules for preparing and consuming products.

In Chechnya, 97% of restaurants operate halal — even without explicit certification. Pork in regular stores is absent or sold in separate sections.
What it means for tourists
- All restaurants = halal by default
- Alcohol — in special stores, limited hours (8:00–10:00)
- Seafood — allowed (fish, shrimp)
- Dairy — no questions
